Serving the Community

San Francisco Interfaith Winter Shelter

For over 25 years, the San Francisco Interfaith Council has sponsored and coordinated an Interfaith Winter Shelter in cooperation with the City. This shelter provides a hot, nutritious dinner, breakfast and a safe, warm overnight rest for some 100 homeless men every night from the Sunday before Thanksgiving through the second Sunday in March. It started in 1989 following the Loma Prieta earthquake.

Religious organizations sign up and prepare a meal for one night, two nights, or a week at one of the host sites. Incarnation has participated for three years. 2016 will be our fourth year of providing meals to the Winter Shelter program.

Sharing gifts during the holidays

Each year we partner with Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco to provide Christmas gifts for residents of supportive housing for homeless individuals and families.

Resilient Sunset

We participate in the Resilient Sunset initiative, an initiative sponsored by District 4 Supervisor Katy Tang, to help make the Sunset district a safer and vibrant place to live in.

NERT - Disaster Preparedness

We particate the the neighborhood Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) to be prepared as emergency response teams to assist families and neighbors in time of disaster.

The Parish Prayer List

Our parish prayer list is updated regularly. Please contact the church office with your prayer requests. We regularly pray for those who are homebound, sick, or in need of special prayer, as well as those who have recently died. Prayer is an important part of our ministry to the world. Please join us in this ministry.
